Police on Thursday arrested four persons with two firearms and 115 rounds of bullets at a location under Lohagara upazila in Chattogram.
The arrestees are Bishwajit Nath Shibu, 43, his brother Rajib Nath, 30, of Amirabad area under Lohagara upazila, Aviram Nath, 31, of Nazirpara area under Panchlaish upazila and Sangkar Nath, 43, of Dulahazara area under Chakaria upazila, Lohagara Police Station’s officer-in-charge Md Atiqur Rahman said.
‘We arrested them at a house in Amirabad area on early Thursday. We recovered two firearms and 115 rounds of bullets from their possession,’ he said.
‘The arrested gathered at the area with arms to carry out an attack on Tapan Nath following a dispute over land. Bishwajit Nath Shibu hired people to carry out the attack,’ he said.
‘There was a chance of committing murder following the dispute,’ the OC said.
A case was filed under the arms act accusing seven persons named and five unnamed over the incident, he said, adding that they were trying to arrest the other accused persons.
